Considering a Laser Tracker?
There are some key considerations when looking at a new Laser Tracker in order to maximize your return on investment.
What size parts will we measure?
API Laser Trackers have working ranges of 20, 50 and 80 metres. Choose a Tracker with the optimum range for your business.
What laser tracker targets do we need?
Choose from sMRSm, hand-held targetsts such vProbe Nd IScan or Activee targets such as Active arget or Smart Target.Nulla quis lorem ut libero malesuada feugiat. Vestibulum ac diam sit amet quam vehicula elementum sed sit amet dui. Quisque velit nisi, pretium ut lacinia in, elementum id enim. Sed porttitor lectus nibh. Mauris blandit aliquet elit, eget tincidunt nibh pulvinar a. Nulla porttitor accumsan.
What software will we need?
For large-volume 3D measurement applications for API laser trackers, we would recommend Verisurf CAD/Measure package and for tool building in the aircraft industry, the Verisurf Build module is usually specified.
What else will we need for our laser tracker system?
As well as the laser tracker, targets and software, it will be necessary to purchase something to mount the laser tracker. This is usually a fixed or rolling stand or rigid tripod. API manufactures an excellent tripod range for their laser trackers.
Additionally, a laser tracker calibration tripod is necessary to enable the efficient set-up of the laser tracker, and usually, a tooling kit is supplied with laser trackers which contain drift nests, pins and offsets for on the job measurements.
Laptop computers?
Most laser tracker installations will require a high-spec laptop computer to run the inspection software and to process the data.
